Thursday, Oct 24th, Doors open at 6:45, film to start at 7:15,  at the Yes Cinema.  A free public viewing of the film, Right to Harm.  The even features Bucetto's Pizza - grab dinner (and support our local independent theater) and join the discussion of the public health consequences of factory farms on their neighbors.

Wednesday, Nov. 6, 6:30 pm, at the Red Room of Bartholomew County Library - Presentation by and Discussion with Jeff White, IU Bloomington Professor of Environmental Science and Earth& Atmospheric Sciences, sponsored by Sierra Club, Winding Waters Group; Bartholomew County Indivisible; Energy Matters; CNHS Environmental Club.

Friday, Sept. 20, 5:30 – 8 pm, at the art exhibit “Thank U Next”, Washington Street between 6th and 7th Streets, hosted by Cooking Across Cultures - an outdoor pitch-in picnic on Washington St. between 6th and 7th street.

Saturday, Sept. 21, 6 – 8 pm, at First Presbyterian Church, 512 7th Street, Columbus – “Faithfully Moving from Crisis to Response: Climate Change and Creativity”. An interactive workshop with Abby Mohaupt. Childcare and light lunch provided. More information at www.beaneventseries.com

Sunday, Sept. 22, 4 – 6 pm, at the Unitarian Universalist Church in Bloomington (2120 Fee Lane) - Charlie vs Goliath, an entertaining and thought-provoking documentary sponsored by Common Cause. Free-will fundraiser to help raise the resources needed to reform Indiana's redistricting process to reflect fair maps in 2021.

(Make a note to also attend: The Bartholomew County Board of Zoning Appeals is scheduled to hear the appeal for conditional use and variance for this CAFO on Monday, July 23rd at 7:00 (location to be determined))


June 27, 5:30 - Gen Silent "A Documentary Film About LGBT Seniors"  This award-winning documentary shares the stories of six lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender seniors, exploring how they deal with and often conceal their sexual orientation, gender identity, spouses, and friend in order to survive in the care system.  Call MRC to register 812-376-9241.  Free and Open to the community.

Hosted by Bartholomew County Indivisible Immigration Subcommittee.
Come with signs to let Sessions, Mike Pence and Donald Trump know that separating children from their parents at the border is unacceptable and is crossing a moral line.  (Event Video)

May 4, 6:00 - 10:00 PM, Inside /Outside Art Show - A collection of visual, audio,  and written works by both free and incarcerated artists.  Rabble Coffee 2119 E 10th 


May 2 at 6:00 pm – In the Voice of a Child: from Grief to Hope at North Christian Church. Featuring area elementary school choirs, the Columbus Children’s Choir & the Philharmonic Youth Orchestra, as well as children in grades 5 & 6 who will express through poems and creative writing their feelings and concerns following the school shooting in Florida.
April 25, 7:00 PM, Indiana Climate Change Impact Assessment. Dr. Jeffrey Dukes, Director of Purdue's Climate Change Research Center (PCCRC) Columbus Learning Center Auditorium.

April 21 at 2:00 - Black Lives Against Gun Violence, a vigil and march at City Hall.


April 14 from 11:00 am – 2:00 pm – Columbus Pride event on 4th Street, Erin Bailey’s senior project featuring vendors, food and music.

April 9 at 6:30 pm in the Red Room of the Library - a Local and State Candidate Forum, sponsored by BCI, the Sierra Club, and Energy Matters Community Coalition.


April 5, 6:30 - 8:00 pm - Sensible Solutions for Safety: a Community Forum at St. Paul's Episcopal Church

April 4 at 4:00 – 6:30 pm – Young Voices: Creatively Expressing What We Have No Words For at the Commons. Students in grades 7 – 12 express through music, art and drama their concerns for school safety.

March 24 at 11:00 am - March for Our Lives rally at the *Indiana Statehouse (*this is a change from previous plans in order to accommodate a larger crowd).
